É com tristeza que o GBAlmanac publica a notícia sobre o cancelamento de dois grandes eventos nos Estados Unidos: o Balloon Camp e o Diamond Jam agendados para agosto 2010 em Las Vegas - USA.
Embora esses eventos acontecem há 8 anos consecutivos nos Estados, para a comunidade brasileira eles passaram a ter um significado especial a partir de 2008:
- Foi no Balloon Camp 2008 onde foram mostrados pela primeira vez nos Estados Unidos os centros de mesa "Brazilian Style" pelo Instrutor Eduardo Seiti.
- Foi no Balloon Camp 2008 onde foi apresentada pela primeira vez no exterior a técnica brasileira "EaSY System - uma grande Paixão".
- Foi no Diamond Jam 2009 que a decoração da festa foi feita pela primeira vez por um decorador brasileiro.
E este ano a decoração da festa de encerramento do Balloon Camp também seria feita por esse decorador brasileiro.
A seguir, o GBAlmanac publica o comunicado oficial enviado pelo organizador Dave Scott para a comunidade "balonística":
"Balloon Camp / Diamond Jam, a necessary & uncomfortable announcement
It is with a great deal of sadness and embarrassment that I have tell you that we have had to cancel this year’s event, Balloon Camp and Diamond Jam.
The economy along with new conventions, tours, and the many local seminars being held around the country the registrations for this year’s event fell far short of the necessary numbers needed to finance the event. With limited manufacturer support this year it became difficult to proceed.
We extend our appreciation to Pioneer, Anagram, Hi-Float, Conwin, Silver Rainbow, Balloon Weights and other smaller companies for stepping up to support our industry-wide event. They all recognized the need for the industry to come together, under one roof, to educate the professional balloonist. Their support over the last 8 years has been instrumental in bringing the industry together rather than only promoting their own interests. We thank and respect them for their efforts! Our thanks to Balloonhq and all those who keepcommunication in the industry open.
To all of the many Distributors, those who supported the event by displaying in the Product Showcase and those who help to promote the event, we thank you for all your efforts over the past years.
To all those who joined us over the years THANK YOU for your support and desire to improve your skills and have fun at the same time.
Although many in the industry fail to realize it, Education is important. There are many opportunities out there and we hope you will take advantage of as many chances as possible to support the industry and helping to promote your businesses. Please do not allow
our misfortune to reflect on other events.
After 26 years in the industry and 8 years of the event we apologize for having to take this action. We are all in a great industry of fantastic people and we appreciate the friendships and relationships we have enjoyed.
We are proud to have been able to do the yearly event and hope we have helped some of you. While we are against the wall now I know we will all meet again.

O GBAlmanac ficará na torcida para que as circumstâncias em geral voltem a se normalizar em 2011 e que os balões do Balloon Camp & Diamond Jam possam voltar a novamente "colorir" Las Vegas ainda mais!

ResponderExcluirSuas palavras apenas refletem uma realidade que tristemente está cada vez mais evidente (e constante!).
A empolgação e o esforço em viabilizar tais eventos, os quais além de confraternizar seus participantes, transmitem informação de qualidade, profissionalizando o setor, são inversamente proporcionais ao retorno que necessariamente deve ocorrer, seja por parte do público inscrito ou da própria indústria, que são muitas vezes, os mais beneficados nisso tudo.
Eu imaginava que a cultura dos balões fosse vista de maneira simplista apenas no Brasil, mas aparentemente é algo que está se generalizando pelo mundo todo.
É uma lacuna que se abre. Possível de reverter, mas que não depende somente de quem organiza eventos como esses.
